| The Saltwater Edge is owned by Peter Jenkins and has been in operation since 1992. We are located in Middletown, Rhode Island less then a mile from 1st beach in Newport. The store started out in downtown Newport in a small 600 square foot retail space. We moved to a bigger location at 561 Thames Street over a decade ago, and in January of '06 we moved to an even bigger and much more accessible location on Aquidneck Avenue. Just recently on August 1st in 2008 we opened the doors at our new, stand alone building at 47 Valley Road in Middletown, RI. With dedicated shipping and receiving, warehouse, and bigger retail space this building fits us well but leaves room to grow. We've also developed an extensive web presence over the past 14 years due to great service and fast delivery making us one of the premier online retailers along the striper coast. The courteous, knowledgeable staff is always available to help with any questions or concerns you may have. Our sales staff brings with them years of experience fishing with fly rods,light tackle, and surf sticks from the rocky cliffs, sandy flats, rips, and behind the center console of a boat.
